Puerto Vallarta is saying adiós to 2017 and holá to 2018 with an entertaining event, featuring music, performances and dazzling fireworks displays. On December 30 and 31, the “Luminia Fest,” will energize the streets and light up the sky with lively activities and illuminating fireworks. Bringing together talented local performers and some of the country’s best pyrotechnists, the festival is a celebratory art showcase for the community to enjoy.
Located on the Malecón, the festival begins Saturday, December 30 at 7pm with the presentation of flamenco and gypsy music band “Gipsy Rumba.” At 8pm the Mexicanísimo Ballet will take center stage, followed by “The Grandchildren of Sebastián Lupercio Hernández” and “Nuevo Continental” mariachis. At 11pm, the sky will sparkle with a 20 minute fireworks show from “Pyromance.” The evening will close with jalisciense rock band, “Retro MX.”
The New Year’s Eve celebration promises to brilliantly punctuate the year. The evening will feature performances from “Dan Solo DJ Set,” “San Juan Project” and “Master Plus.” At 10pm the Jafed Barragán Rodríguez pyrotechnic castle will be lit and the music will continue with “Fanko.” The evening will culminate with a midnight fireworks display from the State of Mexico and a performance from “Ritmo Dynamic” to ring in the New Year.
