Set in the top floor of Richard Burton’s former casita, Richard’s Retreat is the actor’s former sitting room. With its exposed rafters, elegantly carved king-size bed, Oriental rug and stunning antique armoire, one can easily imagine the charismatic Academy Award-winner choosing this as his getaway. In the bath, an antique dresser has been repurposed as a sink, and a crystal chandelier hangs from an arched brick ceiling. The shower, lined with handmade ceramic tiles and arched clerestory windows, features a rainfall-style showerhead, which is its own kind of reward.
