Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor brought one of Shakespeare’s best-known plays to the screen in The Taming of the Shrew, which finds Burton’s Petruccio trying to unleash the softer side of Taylor’s Katharina. This third-floor suite, named for and worthy of the feisty noblewoman, features a hand-carved king-size bed, a beautiful beamed ceiling inset with hand painted tiles, and a gorgeous antique crystal chandelier. In the bath, an antique chest holds the sink, and a domed brick ceiling arches over a raised Jacuzzi which looks toward the Sierra Madre Mountains.
